Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident In Cobb County
A Marietta man was attempting to cross South Cobb Drive when he crossed into the path of a vehicle and was struck.
MARIETTA, GA -- Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on South Cobb Drive near Appleton Drive on Saturday, Sept. 15, around 6:15 pm.
Per investigators, a black 2009 Toyota Yaris was traveling east on South Cobb Drive approaching Appleton Drive. A male pedestrian was attempting to cross South Cobb Drive when he crossed into the path of the Toyota and was struck.
The driver of the Toyota, 38-year-old Chimere D. Spraggins of Marietta, was not injured in the collision. The male pedestrian, now identified as Clarence E. Martin, 64, of Marietta, was transported to WellStar Kennestone where he was pronounced deceased.
