Fight At Cumberland Mall Food Court Led To Shooting: Police
Police said one person was injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital.

COBB COUNTY, GA — A person was injured in a shooting at the Cumberland Mall on Saturday afternoon, leading to mass panic at the mall and fear that an active shooter situation was underway.
Cobb County Police said there was no active shooter, quashing rumors on social media of such an incident at the shopping center but police did confirm shots were fired. Police said around 1:18 p.m., they responded to the mall's food court for a dispute where shots were fired.
The victim was taken to the hospital. Police said the suspect fled the scene but they know the his identity and are working to find him.

Police said early reports of the shooting being labeled an "active shooter" incident were out of an abundance of caution.
Officials are saying to avoid the mall for the next several hours as they investigate. The investigation has closed the mall and surrounding roads.
