A single question changed American pop culture: Norman, Is That You? And even though the hilarious answer is bound up in the Broadway smash of the same name, there is a dash of Norman in popular comedies like Ellen, Will & Graceand Modern Family. When it opened in 1970, Norman, Is That You? was the first play to treat homosexuality in an entirely open and comedic manner, inaugurating a new era of acceptance.

Now Out of Box Theatre presents a recently updated version of this classic farce. After his wife ditches him for his own brother, Ben heads to New York to find his adult son, Norman. Instead of the reassurance he’s seeking, Ben is shocked to discover the truth of his son’s sexual orientation, and again when he meets his son’s flamboyant, elitist boyfriend. Patrick Hill directs this exciting new production.

Norman, Is That You? runs April 17 – May 2, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 3 PM. Out of Box Theatre is located in the Artisan Resource Center at 585 Cobb Pkwy S, Marietta, 30060.
