Marietta Man Dies From Cobb County Car Accident: Police
A serious injury vehicle collision occurred Friday, Nov. 15 on Mableton Parkway at Bonanza Trail in Cobb County.

COBB COUNTY, GA — An 86-year-old man involved in a serious car accident Friday died from his injuries, according to a news release from the Cobb County Police Department on Monday. Clarence Chadwick of Marietta was transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His family has been notified.
The accident occurred Friday, Nov. 15 on Mableton Parkway at Bonanza Trail in Cobb County, according to the first news release. The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit stated that it was being investigated.
The incident took place Friday at 8:30 a.m. when Chadwick was driving a 2010 red Ford Ranger and attempted to make a left turn onto Bonanza Trail from eastbound Mableton Parkway. That’s when a tan 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, traveling west on Mableton Parkway, approached the intersection of Bonanza Trail in the left travel lane. Chadwick initiated a left turn in front of the Chevrolet. The Chevrolet struck the passenger side of the vehicle.

The Ford rolled onto its driver’s side and then slid onto the shoulder of Mableton Parkway. The rear of the Ford then rode a guy-wire, a tensioned cable that was attached to a power pole. The Ford stopped with its rear in an elevated position. It remained in contact with the guy-wire.
The Ford’s driver was identified as 86-year-old Clarence Chadwick of Marietta, who was
transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as 55-year-old Anne Crane of Atlanta. She was transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital with minor injuries.
