Walton Self-Reports Use of Ineligible Football Player, May Forfeit Wins
The player in question transferred to the East Cobb high school but had not made a legal change of residence to attend the school.

The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) may soon force East Cobb’s Walton High School to forfeit three of its first four victories of the 2014 football season due to the use of an ineligible player despite the school’s self-reporting of the incident, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
According to the AJC, the player transferred to Walton High School but did not make a corresponding legal change of address that would put him inside the school’s district. The ineligible player participated in three contests for the Raiders, including wins over Lassiter, South Gwinnett, and Marietta.
Coach Mo Dixon told the AJC that any violations were unintentional, and said that he was confident the Raiders could still make the playoffs even if the GHSA alters their record from 4-1 and 2-1 in the conference to 1-4 and 1-2.
