As many kids head back to school virtually, in-person, or somewhere in between, Cobb-based Wellstar Health System – one of the largest and most integrated health systems in Georgia – has created a catchy back-to-school kids safety rap to help parents teach children the importance of personal safety and hygiene habits as they hit the classroom.

The kid's safety rap reinforces how washing hands, wearing masks, and keeping one’s distance is as crucial as completing assignments or attending Zoom classes.

Kids have heard about COVID-19, and have had their social and academic lives turned upside down because of it. More than 442,000 children have been infected in the United States since the start of the pandemic, and studies show that children can be asymptomatic carriers of the virus, possibly infecting those most vulnerable.

Keep a schedule, do your best

My space, your space, mask on my face,

This is what we do to keep everyone safe

Cough in your elbow, sneeze there too

Don't touch your face, 'cause we care about YOU

Stay at home if you don't feel good

Make sure you see your doctor when you know you should

At home or in-person, stay safe and be cool

Wash your hands, wipe your desk,

Keep a schedule, do your best

My space, your space, mask on my face,

This is what we do to keep everyone safe

Cough in your elbow, sneeze there too

Don't touch your face, 'cause we care about YOU

At school or at home, please sanitize

Don’t forget to keep it clean, and use those wipes

If school’s online, then stay on track

And remember to sing this back-to-school rap

WELLSTAR!
