$2.6 Million in Grants to Boost AP Classes

Gwinnett County is one of 11 districts sharing in the $2.6 million in grants from the Goizueta Foundation of Atlanta. It will be used to boost Advanced Placement courses.

Gwinnett County Public Schools is among 11 Georgia districts that will take part in a new College Board initiative to increase the number of students taking Advanced Placement courses.

The program is being funded with $2.6 million in grants from the Goizueta Foundation of Atlanta. It will be implemented over the next three years, the College Board reported.

Besides Gwinnett County, other districts receiving funds include those in Atlanta, Buford, Cobb County and Fulton County. In particular, officials want to focus on districts with increasing number of Hispanic students.
