GCPS Names New Chief Operating Officer

Press release from Gwinnett County Public Schools:

At its February business meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education named Daniel “Danny” Jardine as the school district’s Chief Operations Officer (COO).

As such, he will lead the district’s Division of Facilities and Operations which oversees Facility Planning and Construction, Fleet and Grounds Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Environmental and Supply Services, Risk Management, and Transportation. Mr. Jardine, a professional with more than 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry, will succeed longtime COO Jim Steele who retired in November of 2012.

Mr. Jardine has extensive experience in master planning, design, coordination and execution of educational facilities and other public sector projects in the design and construction industry. In addition to his work in the private sector, Mr. Jardine has worked in both Gwinnett County Public Schools and Cobb County Schools.
