Local Kroger Stores Net $177K for Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Customers shopping in the Atlanta Kroger division, which includes Gwinnett County, participated in the relief campaign.

Kroger customers donated more than $177,000 in a "round-up" campaign to help tornado survivors in Moore, Okla.

Officials for the Atlanta division -- which includes Georgia, South Carolina, Northern Alabama and Eastern Tennessee -- announced the final tally on May 28.

"As families in Oklahoma look to rebuild their lives, Kroger customers and associates can feel proud to have contributed to this important cause," said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. "Their donations will help provide relief, comfort and stability for the residents of Moore."
