Buy a Mask. Empower Women. Protect Our Community.

Corners Outreach provides More Than A Mask

Corners Outreach today announced More than a Mask, a new Corners Industry that makes face masks. More than a Mask was created as a way for talented immigrant women to earn extra income while staying home with their children.

“I like to sew, and I’m grateful that I don’t have to pay a babysitter while I work. Instead, I get to be with my children and teach them about my traditions,” Teresa said recently of her employment at Corners.

With face masks in high demand, More than a Mask will have positive implications for individual families and our community as a whole. Corners has employed twelve women so far in a living wage job and hopes to continue to add more employees as mask sales increase.

“I have been brainstorming how to employ the women in our community ever since we started Corners Industries Lawn Care three years ago,” says Larry Campbell, Executive Director of Corners Outreach. “When COVID hit and face masks were in great demand, it was clear that we could impact our families in a positive way, as well as impact the community positively to stop the spread of the virus.”

More than a Mask will also donate face masks to farm workers in Georgia through a grant from Welcoming America. To help communities achieve inclusive emergency management, Welcoming America created the resilient rapid response fund. Corners was selected as one of ten nonprofits nationally to receive funding.
