Gwinnett County Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Nearly 60 students from Gwinnett County are semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced Gwinnett County seniors who have qualified as semifinalists in the 2014 program.

Approximately 16,000 high school seniors were named semifinalists, and they now have the opportunity to compete for 8,000 scholarships valued at $35 million.

In February, finalists will be named, and then National Merit Scholarship winners will be selected from that group.

Winners will be chosen based on their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
