Gwinnett High School Student Charged With Possessing Weapon on School Grounds

School police say 11th grader Ulises Alejandro Chavez had a pocket knife at Central Gwinnett High School Monday.

An 11th grader at Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville was arrested on a weapon possession charge this week.

According to Gwinnett County Public Schools spokesman Jorge Quintana and the police report, the school received information that 17-year-old Ulises Alejandro Chavez was carrying a two-inch folding pocket knife on school grounds Monday (April 29).

"School administrators immediately started investigating after it was reported that the student was showing his knife in class," said Quintana.
