Gwinnett Sends 32,000 Pounds of Pet Food to Oklahoma

The Gwinnett County Animal Control began a pet food drive following the deadly tornado that struck Moore, Okla., on May 20.

Gwinnett County residents stepped up in a big way to help the furry friends of Oklahoma tornado victims.

A special pet food drive organized by Gwinnett Animal Control pulled in 32,000 pounds of food for cats, dogs and other animals left hungry and homeless by the May 20 tornado, according to WSB Radio.

The supplies are headed to the City of Moore Animal Shelter.

The food drive took place May 24-28. And, officials told WSB Radio that the drive was so successful that they may consider other such events.
