New Family-Centric Event to Benefit Senior Citizens in Gwinnett
Come Hike, Mountain Bike or Horseback Ride and show you're willing to Go The Extra Mile for aging adults in our community.
Peachtree Christian Health (PCH), Gwinnett’s only full-service adult day health facility for the elderly, is excited to launch a new community event, Go the Extra Mile, to support their Scholarships for Seniors Fund. Go the Extra Mile is a family-friendly, outdoor event designed to bring citizens from all walks of life together to help provide access to life enriching programs for aging seniors and their caregivers. On May 22nd PCH will provide opportunities for Gwinnettians of all ages to come together to support senior citizens by hiking, biking, or horseback riding at Harbins Park in Dacula.
This event fully embodies what PCH’s Life Enrichment Center is all about. PCH President, Anne Mancini explains, “At Peachtree Christian Health we are about caring for the whole family. When families are in caregiving mode it impacts everyone. We are here to help lift the burdens of caregivers while provide meaningful activities that take our participants’ whole health in mind. We provide healthcare services and therapy-based activities. As health conditions become difficult to manage, we help our participants retain their independence, dignity and social engagement as long as possible. Our goal is to help lengthen the time they can live at home with their families and improve their quality of life.”
Thousands of senior citizens in our community and their caregivers spend their days isolated and lonely. They simply do not have the resources to get the care and support they need. With your support, Peachtree Christian Health can change their narrative. Sign your family up to come out and enjoy the beautiful 1,290-acre landscape of Harbins Park for the morning and show our seniors that we are willing to “go the extra mile” so they can live life to the fullest. Your participation and contributions will build Peachtree Christian Health’s scholarship fund so that they can offer more seniors the opportunity to engage in their life enriching programs.
