U.S. News & World Report: Gwinnett Medical Center Not in 'Best Hospitals' List

Of the 60 hospitals in the metro-Atlanta area, only eight made U.S. News & World Reports' list of the 'Best Regional Hospitals."

Gwinnett Medical Center, however, was not one of those recognized as a top regional hospital, nor ranked in Georgia. To see how U.S. News & World Report does the rankings, click here.

But, in general hospitals that are either nationally ranked or high-performing in at least one specialty are recognized as "Best Regional Hospitals."

Those that did make the regional list -- metro Atlanta, which does include Gwinnett -- are:

For children's hospital, just one was nationally ranked: Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. It is nationally ranked in 10 specialties.

Despite not making the list for best hospitals, Gwinnett Medical Center was recognized as having a top-ranked nursing home.

The Gwinnett Extended Care Center received high marks for health inspections, nursing staff and quality measures earlier this year.
