Weather Alert: Severe Storms Possible in North Georgia
The National Weather Service said 2 to 3 inches of rain is expected; severe thunderstorms could move through, too.

With up to 3 inches of rain in the forecast today and tonight, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flood Watch for most of north Georgia, including all of metro Atlanta.
The watch is in effect from 10 a.m. Wednesday though Thursday morning. The weather service also warned that some severe weather is possible as the storms move through.
The watch area is generally north of a line from Franklin to Covington to Washington. The weather service says rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are likely, with higher isolated amounts in the north central and northeast mountains.

“Soils remain very moist from the well-above-average rainfall during the first 10 days of November,” the weather service said. “Expect drainage issues this time of year due to leaf debris and clogged drains to enhance street flooding.”
Based on the forecast rainfall, several creeks and rivers are projected to rise a foot or two above flood stage, the weather service said.
