$200 Million 32-Acre Redevelopment Project Groundbreaking Held

Groundbreaking for Gwinnett's largest redevelopment project – SouthLawn – was held Wednesday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — George Berkow Inc., Novare Group, Batson-Cook Development Company (BCDC), City, County and State Officials including Lawrenceville City Manager Chuck Warbington, Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson and Gwinnett County Commission Chair Charlotte Nash broke ground on Gwinnett’s largest redevelopment project, SouthLawn, Wednesday.

The groundbreaking marked the official start of the $200 million Town Center Project in Downtown Lawrenceville.

The groundbreaking took place at 20 South Clayton Street, vacant lot at the corner of Clayton and Branson Streets.

The project will include over 600 residences, more than 15,000 square feet of retail space and a town green in close proximity to the historic downtown. It will connect City Hall and the Police Station with the increasingly popular Lawrenceville Lawn and create a walkable environment that includes the Lawn as well as the Historic Lawrenceville Square.
