LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Amazon’s Lawrenceville delivery station opened September 2018, is 75,000 square feet and employs more than 400 part time and full time employees.
"This delivery station powers the last mile of our customer order process and helps speed up deliveries for customers," according to an Amazon spokesperson. "Packages are shipped to a delivery station from neighboring Amazon fulfillment and sortation centers, loaded into delivery vehicles and delivered to customers."
Some deliveries are made by small business owners who employ drivers that make deliveries on behalf of Amazon. Others are delivered by participants of Amazon’s innovative service called Amazon Flex. Through Amazon Flex, drivers can be their own boss, create their own schedules and make up to $25 per hour delivering packages on behalf of Amazon.
