Community Effort Reunites 'Therapeutic' Dog With Owner

Gwinnett deputies are thanking the community Thursday after people came out to help search for Snowflake, a missing "therapeutic" dog.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office is thanking the community Thursday after people came out to help search for a "therapeutic" dog that ran out the door at the groomers Wednesday afternoon. Snowflake is home and reunited with her owner.

"She'd been spotted by some of the many people searching for her, so that narrowed the search area," deputies posted on the Sheriff's Facebook page Thursday. "When she saw her mama, she ran right up to her and they headed home. The family asked us to thank everyone who helped find Snowflake by searching and sharing information. We appreciate it too!"

Snowflake went missing near New Hope Road and Simonton Road in Lawrenceville. Snowflake was adopted last year by Justin Gaines' family and has played a very therapeutic role in this family since Justin went missing in 2007 from (formerly) Wild Bill's, a nightclub, in Duluth, Nov. 2, 2007. He was reportedly trying to find a ride to his mother's home in Snellville.
