On to the Dome: Archer Advances to Class 6A Football Final

The Tigers won their 11th straight game to secure a berth in the championship game.

Archer High’s historical run in the Georgia High School Association football playoffs continued Friday night in the Class 6A semifinals.

The Tiger thoroughly routed visiting Etowah 52-7 and will face Colquitt County next weekend in the state finals in the Georgia Dome. Colquitt advanced Friday with a 57-20 win over McEachern.

It will be the first appearance in the state finals for Archer, which opened in 2009.

The win was the 11th in a row for the Tigers, who began the season 0-3.
