The flash flood warning for Gwinnett County will remain in effect until 2 p.m.
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA - According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood warning is in effect for Gwinnett County until 2 p.m. Thursday.
A flash flood warning is issued when a flash flood is imminent or occurring.
Officials are reminding residents that if they come across a flooded road, don't attempt to drive through it.

If you are in a flood prone area move immediately to high ground, the National Weather Service warns. A flash flood is a sudden violent flood that can take from minutes to hours to develop. It is even possible to experience a flash flood in areas not immediately receiving rain, according to the agency.
