Gwinnett Animal Welfare Offers July Specials, Events
All adoption fees will be waived on all pets each Friday throughout the month of July.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett Animal Welfare will host IndePETdence Week July 1 through July 6 with $4 adoption fees, according to a news release from Gwinnett Couny. The shelter will be closed Thursday, July 4 and will reopen Friday, July 5 with the return of Free Fridays. All adoption fees will be waived on all pets each Friday throughout the month of July, the county added.
“The animal shelter remains near capacity, and we want to provide as many homes as possible for all the great pets at the shelter,” Alan Davis, Animal Welfare and Enforcement division director, said. “We encourage families to take advantage of time they may have off during the summer to transition the perfect pet into their home.”
All pets adopted at Gwinnett Animal Welfare have been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Dogs that have tested heartworm positive will be treated before going to their new families. The standard adoption fee is $45 for dogs and puppies and $30 for cats and kittens.
