Parade organizers with the city said the parade was canceled based on reports from the Gwinnett Emergency Operations Center.

"Careful consideration was given to safety, weather conditions and general ability of the public to enjoy a parade in inclement weather," the city said in a social media post. "We value and appreciate everyone’s support for this parade and regret that weather should cause us to cancel. However, safety is always our first priority."
