Lawrenceville Hometown Christmas Parade Cancelled
The City of Lawrenceville Hometown Christmas Parade has been cancelled for this Friday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — With priorities for safety and quality in mind for all participants, patrons, and city employees, city event staff has made the difficult decision to cancel the Christmas Parade due to heavy rains and potential thunderstorms forecast all day on Friday.
The city shared the following:
- The City of Lawrenceville desires to provide high quality, memorable events for its citizens and ensure the safety of everyone involved: participants, employees, and patrons.
- A rescheduled parade is not possible this year, as a poll of event participants resulted in nearly 70 percet unable to return on a new date.return on a new date.
- Nearly 70 employees, over 60 participating organizations and multiple volunteers have a role in thepreparation or tear-down of the parade on Friday, handling metal barricades, electric floats andsound/lighting equipment from early morning hours to late evening hours – all of which are not safe or conducive to set-up in wet or thunderstorm conditions.
