Lawrenceville Students Receive National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarships
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the winners on May 29.

Several Lawrenceville students learned this week that they are recipients of National Merit college-sponsored scholarships.
The students -- living in Lawrencenville -- are:
- Nathaniel Bradley Adams, a graduating senior at Peachtree Ridge High School, who plans to study chemical engineering at Auburn University
- Manav Dutta, a graduating senior at Collins Hill High School, who plans to study computer science at Georgia Tech
- Aaron C. Ragans, a graduating senior at Brookwood High School, who plans to study law at Emory University
- Jenny M. Truong, a graduating senior at Brookwood High School, who plans to study biology at the University of Georgia
In addition to the aforementioned students, two more attending the Gwinnett in Lawrenceville received scholarships.

They are: Eunji Ahn, of Duluth, who plans to study neurology at Northwestern University; and Jason Maxwell Bires, of Loganville, who plans to study computer science at Georgia Tech.
All total, here were 2,500 students across the country who received the awards. The scholarships provide $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.

An additional group of scholars will be announced in July, which will bring the total number of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship recipients in the 2013 competition to 4,500.
