Lawrenceville's ‘St. Paddy’s On Perry’ Among Best In Southeast
'St. Paddy's on Perry' has been named among the best celebrations in the southeast and is set for this Saturday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Southeast Tourism Society, or STS, has named St. Paddy’s on Perry as one of the STS Top 20 Events in the Southeast for March 2019. St. Paddy’s on Perry is March 16, from 3 – 7 p.m. in Downtown Lawrenceville and is presented by Oakhurst Realty Partners, in partnership with McCray’s Tavern. Other sponsors include Local Republic, Consolidated Pipe & Supply, Kona Ice and Kicks 101.5
Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States. The complete list is published on two websites: Southeast Tourism Society and Travel Media Press Room.
In just three years, St. Paddy’s on Perry has become a beloved Lawrenceville tradition. Perry Street, in the heart of historic downtown, is closed off for the day and features an outdoor stage packed with performers, cold brew, traditional Irish food and fare, and plenty of fun and games for the whole family, such as the “Luck of the Irish Costume Contest with Best Dressed prizes for all ages, a “Kiss for Luck” Booth, a cornhole tournament, giant Jinga, and food and drink competitions.

The event is free to the public. Private VIP Cabanas, sponsored by Slow Pour Brewery, may be purchased for $400 through McCray’s Tavern on the Square. Each cabana includes reserved VIP seats for up to eight guests, a bucket of beer, snacks, water, personal server and a gift basket.

“This event began in partnership with McCray’s Tavern on the Square,” said Lisa Sherman, chief
communications officer & community development director for the City of Lawrenceville. “We have watched it grow into a day the citizens of Lawrenceville look forward to each year and we are still proud partners with McCray’s Tavern and Local Republic on this event.”
St. Paddy’s on Perry is a family-friendly event with inflatables and games, balloon twisting, face painting, a leprechaun magician and a stilt walker. Live entertainment with and Irish flair is scheduled from The Gentry Celtic Trio, Drake School of Irish Dance, Gwinnett School of Rock, and Sarah Peacock. Lawrenceville’s original town square offers an eclectic blend of retail merchants and imaginative eateries – all open during the event.
“The Top 20 Festival and Event Program is celebrating 34 years of spotlighting the best festivals and events in the Southeast. Our goal is to provide well-deserved accolades for the dedicated event organizers and additional media exposure for their events,” said Monica Smith, president and CEO of the Southeast Tourism Society.
“The Southeast offers so many unique, year-round, opportunities for attendees to create memories and support an industry that is an economic generator for its community,” she said.
