Chair-Throwing Man Fights With Officer, Shot At Wendy's: Police
A man was shot Wednesday evening at a Wendy's by Lawrenceville police after he threw chairs at officers and a Taser didn't subdue him.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Police in Lawrenceville said they were forced to shoot a man after he fought with officers in a fast food restaurant, according to reports. Employees at a Wendy's called police after a man came into the business drinking, and then threw chairs at officers.
Lawrenceville police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are at a Wendy's, 165 Scenic Highway, near downtown Lawrenceville.
About 5:30 p.m. police said a man walked into the business, sat down in a booth, and started drinking beer. A manager asked the man to leave, but he refused, according to WAGA TV.

On Facebook, the Lawrenceville Police Department said the victim suffered a gunshot wound.
The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Northside Hospital Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, WAGA said. His condition was reportedly stable.
One officer was injured during the scuffle and was also taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is the third officer-involved shooting the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been requested to investigate since the beginning of the year, said spokesperson Nelly Miles, according to WXIA TV.
Law enforcement agencies statewide typically call in the GBI to investigate independently when their officers are involved in a shooting. The GBI then turns its findings over to a district attorney in the region for any possible charges.
