Pedestrian Killed In Lawrenceville Accident

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- A pedestrian was killed Monday at the intersection of Duluth Highway, SR120, and Riverside Parkway in unincorporated Lawrenceville, according to police. The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
At around 9:30 p.m., Troy Cox, 58, of Lawrenceville, attempted to cross Duluth Highway at around 9:30 p.m. and he was struck by a car driven by Aleksandr Gutsu, 26, of Lawrenceville, and died.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears as though Cox did not have right-of-way to cross the road, according to police.

Gutsu was traveling westbound on Duluth Highway just crossing Riverside Parkway and had a green traffic light, police said. Gutsu was not injured.
Notification was made to Troy’s family.
