This Week's Weather in Gwinnett: Stormy Monday ... and Tuesday ... and Beyond

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- In the week leading up to July 4th, we can expect high temperatures in the low 90s and ... surprise, surprise ... a chance of thunderstorms almost daily.

We're most likely to see those storms on Monday night and Tuesday, but the chance for a summer storm will linger for the rest of the week.

Here's a look at your work-week forecast in Gwinnett County from the National Weather Service:

Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Increasing to a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday night, mainly before 5 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 7 a.m. Areas of fog between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Tuesday night will see a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Light northwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning. A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m. Wednesday night. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Partly cloudy Thursday night, with a low around 68.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Friday night brings a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
