LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - Don't plan a last minute trip to your county government offices on Christmas Eve.

Gwinnett County offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. County offices will resume normal business hours Dec. 26. A Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center during the holiday.

Trash and recycling collection in unincorporated Gwinnett County will be delayed by one day starting Dec. 25 through Dec. 27. Collections will be made the day following the holiday, and subsequent collection during the holiday week will take place on the day after the normal collection day.

The Gwinnett County Solid Waste Management Call Center will be closed Dec. 24, but hauler call centers will be open. Residents can visit GCSolidWaste.com to find their hauler’s contact information. Residents who live within city limits should contact their trash and recycling provider to find out if collection will be delayed due to the holiday.

Gwinnett County schools are out and won't return until Jan. 7.

Christmas is a federal holiday and all U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed. No mail will be delivered or sent. Regular business hours will resume Dec. 26.

Banks are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

Publix: All stores open at regular hours and close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All stores and pharmacies will be closed on Christmas day. Store hours may vary. Locate a store near you for specific store hours.

Kroger: All stores are open on Christmas Eve. Closing time varies from 5 to 8 pm. All stores will be closed on Christmas day. Contact stores for pharmacy hours.
