Which Roads Are Still Closed In Gwinnett County?

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The list of Gwinnett County roads that are closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma is shrinking. But, by 8 a.m. Wednesday, there were still two dozen roadways that police had blocked off to traffic.

Gwinnett was walloped by the tropical-storm force storms that rolled through Georgia on Monday as Irma made its way through the state. According to Georgia Power, about 12,000 people in Gwinnett still were without power as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Schools in Gwinnett County were closed once again Wednesday, with officials saying power outages and road conditions meant they needed at least one more day to get facilities ready for students and teachers.
