Gwinnett Police need the public's help to ID someone who may have burglarized a Lilburn convenience store of about $19,000.

LILBURN, GA – The Gwinnett County Police Department Burglary Unit needs the public’s help in identifying a person who may be responsible for a burglary at a local convenience store with an estimated value of about $19,000.

On Aug. 24, at approximately 4:45 a.m., the person broke the front glass doors of the Santa Fe Food Mart with a hammer, police say. Santa Fe Food Mart is located at 880 Indian Trail Road in unincorporated Lilburn. The man stole cash from behind the counter and from inside the gambling machines. He also stole several packs of cigarettes. Police estimate the total value of theft is about $19,000. He was seen walking away from the business towards Burns Road.

On the day before, Aug. 23, the manager told police a suspicious man came into the store. The young man pulled up his hoodie and tried to hide his face before walking inside. He had an interest in the gambling machines and was continuously looking around as he was playing. The man was wearing a shiny red, hooded shirt and was carrying a backpack.
