Brian Burchik Resigns From Lilburn City Council To Work For DDA
Burchik's resignation comes with the announcement that he has accepted the position of Main Street Manager for the Lilburn DDA.

LILBURN, GA — City Council Member Brian Burchik announced his resignation from his seat on the Lilburn City Council effective Jan. 1. Council Member Burchik, a Lilburn native and Parkview High School graduate, began his term of office in January 2016. Prior to being elected to the City Council, he served on the city’s Planning Commission.
The city’s downtown area has experienced a great deal of change and growth in the last year. Townhome construction began near Lilburn City Park that will include future storefronts and a new police facility is being built that will open up additional development opportunities. It is this revitalization in downtown Lilburn that influenced Burchik’s decision.
His resignation comes with the announcement that he has accepted the position of Main Street Manager for the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority, or DDA. The DDA joined Main Street America, a national program that helps small towns revitalize their downtown districts, in December 2017.

“Over the last year, my passion for Lilburn, and specifically the revitalization of our downtown district, has grown to the point where I began asking how I could work more directly on revitalization efforts,” said Burchik. “This personal curiosity coincided with the Lilburn Downtown Development Authority joining the Main Street America program.”
