Lilburn Pizza Huts to Raise Funds for Tripp Halstead

The Winder toddler was finally released from the hospital on Friday, only to return on Monday. Doctors are monitoring his liver enzymes, according to a post on the Facebook page where his family provides updates.

Pizza Hut is holding a fundraiser for Tripp Halstead, the Winder toddler who was critically injured in October when a tree limb weighing several hundred pounds fell and struck him in the head.

Hundreds of area Pizza Hut locations, including two in Lilburn, are participating in the all-day fundraiser on April 2. According to the company, if patrons print and present the fundraiser voucher up to 20 percent of their purchase price will be donated to Tripp.

After being at home for just several days, he was rushed back to the hospital on Monday via ambulance, according to a post on the Facebook page where his family provides updates on his condition. Doctors are monitoring his liver enzymes.

"If his liver enzymes go down or stay the same I think they will send us home, if they go up, we have a problem and will be here a while, said Tripp's mother Stacy Halstead in an update about 9 p.m. Monday.

Tripp has endured a five-month hospital stay during which he underwent several surgeries.
