Lilburn Water Main Break Disrupts Traffic On Killian Road, Avoid

LILBURN, GA - Traffic on Killian Road just East of Highway 29 in Gwinnett County may be delayed due to a water main break in the area.

One west-bound lane remains open as crews work to repair the line.

The break in the water main was reported to Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources on Jan. 5. Crews were immediately dispatched to locate and repair the pipe. Because of the difficult location and the depth of the water main, repairs have taken longer than originally expected.

Crews have worked through the night and continue to work Monday morning to make the necessary repairs. Paving crews are on standby to pave Killian Road as soon as repairs are
complete.

Drivers should avoid the area and find alternate routes. Gwinnett DWR expects repairs and paving to be complete before the evening traffic cycle Monday.
