Police Identify, Search For Suspect in Lilburn Shooting

Gwinnett County Police are looking for an Atlanta man charged with murder in a fatal shooting last Friday near Lilburn.

LILBURN, GA — Gwinnett County Police have identified a suspect in the shooting death of a Lawrenceville man Friday morning near Lilburn.

People are looking for Eriberto Villanueva, 28, of Atlanta. Police have issued felony murder and aggravated assault warrants for him. His whereabouts are unknown. Police are seeking tips on his location through Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.

Police have also identified the victim as Benedicto Grandos, 30, who was visiting friends and family. He was shot in the garage of a house on Barnaby Court about 3 a.m. in unincorporated Gwinnett County.

Grandos was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and family members over the weekend. The crime is believed to have begun as an argument that escalated into a fatal shooting, police said.
