Storms Down Tree On Gwinnett Home

Several people were at the Lilburn home when the tree was knocked down.

LILBURN, GA — Severe thunderstorms downed a tree on a Gwinnett County home Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded at 2:10 p.m. to a call to the 1200 block of Tred Avon Way in Lilburn.

Crews found a tree that had fallen, taking out a wall on the second floor of the house. Several occupants were home at the time the tree fell, but were downstairs and none were injured.

The family is being assisted by friends from church and neighbors.

A tree service was at the house Wednesday afternoon to begin removal of the tree. The tree caused extensive damage to part of the second floor.

Elsewhere in Gwinnett County on Wednesday, the waves of storms that blew through metro Atlanta caused lightning strikes at two homes — one in Lilburn and the other in Loganville.
