Demolition Project In Marietta Will Help Revitalize, City Says
The strip center that once held 11 business, including the Marietta Flea Market will be demolished in the upcoming weeks, says the city.
MARIETTA, GA — The strip center that once housed the Marietta Flea Market will be demolished in the coming weeks. The strip center is located on the southwest corner of South Marietta Parkway and Franklin Gateway.
The city’s economic development director, Daniel Cummings, tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the demolition is a part of Marietta’s plan for revitalization.
The 84,000-square-foot building is 36 years old and once held 11 businesses, Cummings said. Marietta purchased the property for $5.8 million years ago. The city is looking for buyers who are interested in helping redevelop the Franklin Road corridor.
