Car Hit By Train in Marietta, Suspected Drunk Driver Facing Charges
The collision took place around 2 a.m. Monday at a railroad crossing in Marietta, according to report.
A man is facing charges after police told TV news station WGCL he tried to drive his car over train tracks while allegedly intoxicated and ended up with his vehicle getting struck by a train.
Police told WGCL his car ended up getting stuck on the train tracks on Mill Street in Marietta around 2 a.m. Monday morning, and was struck by an oncoming train, destroying his car. Authorities said he was lucky to escape the vehicle before the collision and get away with no injuries.
