I-75 North In Cobb To Close Monday Night
Interstate 75 Northbound In Cobb County To close Monday night until Tuesday morning for construction related to Northwest Corridor project.
MARIETTA, GA -- Motorists on a section of Interstate 75 in Cobb County will have to find an alternate route Monday night, as the highway will close down, the Georgia Department of Transportation said. Georgia DOT contractors will close multiple lanes on I-75 northbound to remove a concrete bridge deck from the bridge over I-75, the agency said.
State road crews are busy at work building out the Express Lanes bridge for the I-75 Northwest Corridor project. The Northwest Corridor project will add 29.7 miles of toll lanes along I-75 from Akers Mill Road to Hickory Grove Road and along I-575 from I-75 to Sixes Road, state officials said.

When the project is complete, two express lanes will run to the west of the existing lanes along I-75 between I-285 and I-575. One express lane will be added along I-75 north to Hickory Grove Road and another one will be added along I-575 to Sixes Road.
Monday night's construction work, weather permitting, will conclude by Tuesday, June 6, 5 a.m.
