Life University 'All Clear' After Suspect Detained On Campus

Life University was briefly on a "Shelter in Place" order Tuesday as authorities searched for a suspect, who was quickly found.

MARIETTA, GA -- Life University in Marietta was briefly on "shelter in place" status Tuesday afternoon as authorities searched for a suspect in the vicinity of the campus, a school official confirmed to Patch.

The "shelter in place" order was activated from 12:55 to 1:58 p.m., according to Life University spokesman William Brooks.

"Law enforcement believed the suspect was somewhere on the campus," Brooks said. The suspect was captured and taken off the campus shortly before 2 p.,m. An “all clear” was given to Life students, staff and faculty about that time, he said.
