Marietta School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Marietta is August 3. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Marietta City School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/1 - 8/2: Pre-Planning/ Teacher Work Day/Professional Learning

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/18 - 9/22: K-5 Conference Week
• 9/25 - 9/29: No School (Fall Break)

October

• 10/16: No School for Students (Professional Learning)
• 10/23 - 10/27: MCAA/MSGA/MMS Conference Week

November

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/20: Last Day of First Semester
• 12/21 - 1/1: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/2 - 1/3: No School for Students (Professional Learning/Teacher Work Day)
• 1/3: First Day of Second Semester
• 1/15: No School (MLK Jr. Day)

February

• 2/12 - 2/16: K-5 Conference Week
• 2/19: No School (President’s Day)
• 2/20 - 2/23: No School (Mid-Winter Break, Make-Up Days if Inclement Weather

March

• 3/5 - 2/9: MCAA/MSGA/MMS Conference Week
• 3/12: No School for Students (Teacher Work Day)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Break)

• 5/25: Last Day of School
• 5/26: MHS Graduation
