Marietta School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

MARIETTA, GA — The first day of school in Marietta is on Thursday, Aug. 2 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Marietta City Schools have released the 2018-2019 calendar for the city's public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

  • Aug. 2: First Day of School
  • Sept. 3: Labor Day
  • Sept. 17-21: K-5 Fall Conference Week (Dismissal-1:15)
  • Sept. 24-28: Fall Break
  • Oct. 15-19: Fall Conference Week (early dismissals)
  • Nov. 5-6: Professional Learning (students do not report)
  • Nov. 19-23: Thanksgiving Break
  • Dec. 20: End of First Semester
  • Dec. 21-31: Winter Break
  • Jan. 3: First Day of Second Semester
  • Jan. 21: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Feb. 14-15: K-5 Spring Conferences (dismissal at 1:15 p.m.)
  • Feb. 18: Presidents’ Day
  • Feb. 19-22: Mid-Winter Break
  • March 11: Professional Learning (students do not report)
  • March 21-22: Spring Conferences (early dismissals)
  • April 1-5: Spring Break
  • May 24: Last Day of School
  • May 27: Marietta High School graduation
