Office Depot Donates 2,000 Bookbags To Cobb Students
The office retailer also will provide school supplies to teachers at Harmony Leland Elementary School in Mableton.

MABLETON, GA — Office Depot, the nationwide chain of office supply stores, announced Thursday that it will donate 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to students at Harmony Leland Elementary School in Mableton during a school assembly on Friday. Office Depot also will provide another 1,000 backpacks to the Cobb Schools Foundation "to assist the Cobb County School District with any ongoing needs at other Title I schools throughout the year," the company said in a statement.
Office Depot selected 10 schools across the country for a new program to support students, and Harmony Leland is the only elementary school in Georgia chosen, the company said.
Office Depot also will celebrate one educator at Friday's assembly at Harmony Leland "for their extraordinary efforts in the classroom," surprising that teacher with about $1,000 worth of premium supplies, the company said. Teachers at the school will receive one more surprise — "an additional donation of pallets of school supplies to help them start the year off right."
