"I am addressing this letter to (Officer) Blakeney, your K9 officer and really to the entire Cobb County Department.
This morning around 0930, I witnessed Officer Blakeney going above and beyond in my opinion the scope of his job. He was helping a stranded motorist by changing her tire. It was obvious she did not know how or could not do it herself and he spared no time in not only doing it for her, but doing it with a smile on his face.
....I want to personally thank you for helping her today and wanted you to know I appreciate the service you provided and your department provides daily.
As always, we are here for you and all first responders at our store. If your ever in the area, stop by and let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Thank you for your continued service."
The letter is a wonderful reminder that officers do more than the gritty crime work we see depicted on TV -- they do it all.
