'Vegas' Lucky for Strand First-Timer

Jeanne Wells wins a pair of tickets to Thursday night's premiere.

We wanted to hear about your favorite moments, but proved to be a golden opportunity to visit the Marietta Square theater for the first time.

More than half the people who entered the contest by posting comments across Cobb County Patches said they have never seen a show at the Strand but would love to do so.

That group includes our randomly selected winner, Jeanne Wells.

"I have not yet been to the Strand but I am looking forward to possibly having an event there sometime in the near future," wrote Wells, the activities director for Dogwood Forest of Marietta, an assisted-living facility in East Cobb. "I look forward to taking my residents there on a trip someday. I am a huge Elvis fan and often book local Elvis impersonators Mark Pitt and Harold Shultz to come to the facility and perform for the seniors here. I am also a huge Michael Jackson fan. I have never been to Las Vegas either but hope to go there someday soon. I would love to come and see a show there soon. I have heard that the theatre is beautiful. I think that it is great that you were able to bring a little bit of history back for all to enjoy."

Wells wins two tickets to tonight's , a variety show that uses music and celebrity impersonators to pay tribute to the past and present of Las Vegas.

The show is playing tonight, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25, and the proceeds benefit the theater and the .
