Georgia Weather Forecast: Warm With Storms (Sound Familiar?)
Find out when thunderstorms are most likely to roll through metro Atlanta this work week, according to the National Weather Service.

ATLANTA, GA — Stop us if you think that you've heard this one before — warm temperatures, with a chance of thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon and evening.
We promise we aren't copying and pasting the work-week weather forecast for metro Atlanta this week. But the National Weather Service says that we're in for the kind of summer-in-Georgia weather week that many of us have learned to expect.
According to the weather service, scattered-to-numerous thunderstorms are expected across north and central Georgia on Monday, mostly during the afternoon and evening. And that's going to be the case most every day through Sunday, the NWS says.

Some of those storms could be strong, according to the forecast, with gusty winds, occasional lightning and heavy rainfall that could result in flooding in some areas.

The best chances for rain this week will come Monday and Tuesday, when we're looking at a 60 percent chance of showers and storms. That chance drops to 40 percent on Wednesday and Thursday, then pops back up to 50 percent on Friday.
Meanwhile, high temperatures should be pretty consistent, ranging from 88 to 90 degrees during the work week. Lows each night are expected to get down into the low 70s.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 m.p.h. in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Monday night, a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind around 5 m.p.h. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. West wind 5-10 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Northwest wind 5-10 m.p.h.
Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Northwest wind 5-10 m.p.h. Wednesday night, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m.. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.
Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Friday night, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73.
