Midtown Hotel That Furloughed 100 Plus Employees Set To Reopen

The Four Seasons Atlanta Hotel temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to its website, it's reopening May 15.

MIDTOWN, GA — The Four Seasons Atlanta Hotel located in Midtown is set to reopen Friday, according to its website. The hotel temporarily closed, said the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau on Monday.

The temporary closing and 109 employees who were furloughed is the result of the Covid-19 pandemic, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

In a letter, the entity that owns the hotel at 75 14th St. NE Atlanta, notified the Georgia Department of Labor about the layoff that was effective March 23.

"Out of an abundance of caution related to the evolving COVID-19 situation, Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta will be closed until May 15, 2020. Our team remains available to assist with reservations for stays from May 15, 2020, onward. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding during this time," according to the hotel website.

Some of the positions that were affected by the furlough included 14 cooks, 11 server outlet positions, four spa therapists, a catering supervisor and more.
