Kahre Williams allegedly led police on a wild chase through Midtown that left two people dead and several others critically injured.

ATLANTA -- A Fulton County grand jury has returned 35 indictments against a man who allegedly led police on a wild chase through Midtown that left two people dead and several others injured. Kahre Williams, 34, is facing two counts of murder, 8 counts of first-degree homicide by vehicle, 10 counts of serious injury by vehicle, and seven counts of hit and run resulting in death, among other charges. The grand jury returned the indictments late Friday.

On April 20, 2019, around 3:40am, a Georgia State patrolman was traveling southbound on Spring Street between 3rd Street and Ponce de Leon Avenue in Midtown when a Dodge Charger, driven allegedly by Williams, pulled out in front of him and began to drive the wrong way on the one-way street.

Officials said the trooper activated his siren and blue lights and pulled in front of the vehicle. Williams allegedly did a U-turn and accelerated in the other direction along Spring Street at high speed. He then allegedly ran two stoplights before entering I-75/85 southbound. Moments later, he lost control of his vehicle and allegedly slammed it into two other vehicles on the interstate.
