Midtown Street Racers Block Road To Do Donuts

MIDTOWN, GA — Street racers were captured on video racing down a major street in Midtown Atlanta.

WSB shared the Facebook video that shows a large crowd watching a car do donuts and someone shooting fireworks. It took place at the Peachtree Street overpass at Interstate 85 near the Brookwood Amtrak station.

In May, Atlanta police arrested 44 people and impounded 29 cars for street racing.

Arrests and citations were issued at several locations throughout the city that have been hotspots for such activity in the past, including interstates and Spring Street in Midtown, said police.

Atlanta police said 114 citations were issued, 29 vehicles were impounded, and four firearms were recovered, including a semi-automatic rifle.
